Description
Marge says: “I have never understood the attraction to Bergamot. In close to 30 years, I have never found a specimen I was excited about. And then we received a sample of this cold-pressed Italian oil from the producer. And it was love at first sight…or sniff, or whatever. NOW I understand the attraction of Bergamot! I hope you will enjoy this amazing specimen as much as I do.”
Lovely green light citrus/floral note, fruity and warm, much used by perfumers as a top note. Encouraging, balancing to the spirit. Combats fatigue due to stress, tension and anxiety. Is reputed to strengthen the immune system. The flavoring in Earl Grey tea. Some authorities recommend it as a treatment for herpes, shingles, eczema, and psoriasis, although much care must be used when applying it to the skin, due to the risk of photosensitivity.
Mixes well with other Citrus Oils, Geranium, Ylangylang as well as other florals, such as Rose or Neroli. Some sources advise mixing with Lavender, but I’m not pleased with the result.
WARNING: Never apply Bergamot to skin that will be exposed to the sun. Maximum dermal use to avoid phototoxicity is 0.4%. **For other possible oils to avoid, please see our Contraindications page.
SHELF LIFE: Approximately 2 to 3 years after you open the bottle. Storing dark, refrigerated, and decanting half full bottles into smaller, full bottles will extend shelf life.

Charlie from Florida –
This is a delightful bergamot. It’s light, sweetly tart, and gives you those feelings of comfort. This is my favorite calming citrus. The mandarins tend to be a little sweet for my taste, and bergamot’s slight tartness works perfect. There’s really nothing else like bergamot. I mostly use it in my diffuser but I did use it one time to flavor frosting for Earl grey cupcakes which turned out AMAZING.
