Dilution And Measurement Chart
Dilution Chart
Amount of Essential Oil added to 1 fluid ounce (approx. 600 drops) of Carrier Oil to achieve each dilution:
1% dilution = 6 drops
2% dilution = 12 drops
2.5% dilution = 15 drops
5% dilution = 30 drops or 1.5 ml
10% dilution = 60 drops or 3 ml
Or, for smaller amounts:
A rule of thumb: the number of drops you add to one measuring teaspoon (5 ml) of carrier tells the % dilution. 1 drop would be a 1% dilution, 2 drops, 2%, etc. [This only works with one measuring teaspoonful (5 ml for those with non-USA measuring spoons).]
1 teaspoonful of carrier oil + 1 drop of essential oil = a 1% dilution
1 teaspoonful of carrier oil + 2 drops of essential oil = a 2% dilution
1 teaspoonful of carrier oil + 3 drops of essential oil = a 3% dilution
