Description
Marge is head over heels with this absolute. She explains why we’ve waited so long to carry it. “Years ago we had samples…and they smelled like Petitgrain Bigarade…which I love… but the price was quite close to Neroli… and I was not going to offer Petitgrain at “almost Neroli prices”. This was a total surprise… like Neroli…but lighter… If I had to describe this it would be “Neroli lite”. ” This Petitgrain sur fleur is an affordable substitute with comparable composition Neroli/Orange Blossom distillation.
Petitgrain provides a grounding sense of calm, an assistant in organizing thoughts. We’ve referred to it as a solution for “monkey mind” for many years. Add this to the anxiety relieving powers of Neroli, and we’ve got a powerhouse for mental health balance. Balance comes to mind when trying to describe how I feel when first inhaling this Petitgrain Sur Fleurs (Petitgrain “on flowers”). Neroli has always been in my top 3 favorite essential oils list, both for aroma and usefulness, but it can be a bit too expensive of a love affair. Petitgrain Sur Fleurs, as Marge mentions, offers a more affordable romance. Yes, romance and sensibility can coexist.
This was a tricky oil to categorize. Is it a steam distillation or an absolute? Well, it’s a bit of both. The technique of extraction for this oil was performed by enfleurage, but without the use of alcohol. In the traditional extraction method called enfleurage, petals are placed between layers of purified animal fat, which become saturated with flower oil, and alcohol is then used to obtain the absolute. FOR THIS EXTRACTION steam distilled Petitgrain was used in place of alcohol to obtain the oil of the blossoms, and contains none of the solvents used in producing most absolutes. This allows for Petitgrain Sur Fleurs to hold true to the benefits of Citrus aurantium.

This one is new to me, but I would expect nothing but awesomeness given past history. I cannot wait to get it.
