Description
I first encountered the Piñon Pine tree on a trip to Colorado in autumn of 2009. A brand new oil, from an artisan distiller in the northern Rocky Mountains, ethically wildcrafted in the mountains. Distilled from the needles and twigs of trees that have either fallen from natural causes, or are slated to be cut down for ecological reasons…to create fire breaks or other conservation purposes. The distiller does not use power tools in gathering the branches for his still; hand saws, not chain saws, no power chipper…just man power. Nothing to disturb the pristine environment where they grow. Both the energetics and the aroma of his oils are amazing.
SHELF LIFE: Approximately 2 to 3 years after you open the bottle. Storing in the dark, refrigerated, and decanting half full bottles into smaller, full bottles will extend shelf life.

This is possibly my favorite oil I have ever smelled. When I first received the sample, I fell madly in love with it and knew that I would order a larger size as soon as possible. I have smelled countless pine oils over the years and have never purchased a single one because for me, they never truly capture the essence of trees, even when they are of a high purity and from reputable distributors. But the reverence paid to the trees by this distiller is apparent in the scent. It feels like “drinking the tree.” I can’t get enough of it. It reminds me so much of being in the Southwest. Absolutely beautiful, and on par with the vintage rosewood and Mysore sandalwood I own for my prized possessions. Love it so much that I bought the other oil this distiller makes, the White Fir, which is equally as good. Highly recommend.
