Copying from that description. I think all the attributes will apply to this skinsafe 10% dilution.
Christi writes, “The genus Helichrysum boasts hundreds of species but the best of the best comes from a tiny corner of our planet on the island of Corsica (high in italidiones) and from way up in the mountains of Sardinia. If you can imagine one of the most beautiful places created, Sardinia is it. You have the ocean, the magnificent blue waters, the beaches, the green areas, and then, behold, the mountains. Christi said its breath-taking beauty reminds her of the scenery in “The Lord of the Rings.” It is truly magical…a place where the Mediterranean region begins in southernmost Italy.
While our Corsican Helichrysum is renowned for its ability to heal scar tissue and bruises on the physical body; our Sardinian Helichrysum may best heal bruises and wounds much deeper…of the soul and spirit. Marge says it would be an excellent addition to an emotional healing blend or for diffusing during meditation. That is not to say it cannot be used for inflammation. It can and should be.”
And I chime in, “This sweetly aromatic batch of my beloved helichrysum will not have the scar-healing effects of our Corsican Helichrysum italicum, but it should be equally effective as a physical pain reliever. What I plan to use it for, though, is for its energetic/emotional/spiritual uses.
Valerie Worwood recommends use of Everlasting (Helichrysum italicum) to counteract stress during an emotional crisis, and to help release emotional blockages. (For the latter, I would blend with Cistus essential oil.)
Robbi Zeck recommends Helichrysum for ‘when you are knotted up inside and unable to stop thinking.”
Joni Loughran writes that everlasting may “dissolve emotional blockages and helps balance the upper chakras….it integrates compassion and spirituality and activates and supports the intuitive mind”
Blends with: For its emotional and spiritual effects, I would suggest blending with Roman Chamomile, Clary sage, Frankincense (perhaps Black Sacra?), Lavender, Neroli, Bitter Orange, Petitgrain bigarade, Sandalwood, or Rose for easing stress and anxiety
For healing emotional wounds or trauma I would suggest Cistus, Neroli, Rose and Sandalwood. (But please see also our Emotional Trauma blend.)
I have been set a spiritual exercise, to try to write about something I don’t understand, with the help of my beloved oils. I had planned on Rose, on Cistus, on Petitgrain bigarade, perhaps some Rhododendron or Fragonia™. This new helichrysum will definitely be part of the blend of oils I use. I need to send a tiny sample to Cathy Skipper and Florian Birkmayer who started me on this part of my path. I suspect they will love it as much as I do.
SHELF LIFE: Approximately 2 to 3 years after you open the bottle. Storing in the dark, refrigerated, and decanting half full bottles into smaller, full bottles will extend shelf life.
