High in chemazulene, this deep blue Yarrow Oil shares the anti-inflammatory characteristics of German Chamomile. Its astringency makes it the perfect choice for acne or oily skin, for balancing oily skin or scalp. I’ve seen it used in treating seborrhea.
Yarrow Essential Oil is said to encourage hair growth (as is Rosemary!). Said by some to act on bone marrow to ease rheumatoid arthritis. It is a circulatory stimulant, and may ease cramps, menstrual problems, and constipation.
Victoria Leydet says that Yarrow oil can both provide protection from ticks, and is helpful in counteracting the effects of radiation therapy (perhaps blended with Helichrysum???).
Energetically, Cathy Brewer teaches that this oil has an afinity for blood, and is wonderful support for women undergoing menstrual problems. It is also said to help with establishing and maintaining boundaries.
See the GC Analysis here. Also available in a 10% Dilution in Fractionated Coconut Oil.
WARNING: To be avoided by those with “weed dermatitis.” Avoid in pregnancy, with babies or small children.
