  Pink Peppercorn
Pink Peppercorn (Schinus terebinthifolius raddi)-Madagascar, Organically Produced, Steam Distilled from Fruit/Berry

Quantity:
Pinterest

There’s something delightful about saying, “Pink Peppercorn.”  Maybe it is the letter P or maybe it is because I envision a chef in a big beautiful busy restaurant kitchen running her fingers through a rainbow assortment of peppercorn before grinding it all up and including in a fabulous flavorful dish!

Light in color and thin in consistency, you will find it is fruity/floral with a medium pungent peppery aroma on dry down. I once heard someone say it can pull you into a sense of comfort and then, (bam!), hit you in the face when you least expect it. (Starts out a bit sweet and finishes with a bang!)  In fact, it enhances the scent if you are blending just for aroma, and can be blended with woods, florals, spices, and just about anything in between! Extremely versatile in blends.  For instance, a blend of Lavender, Helichrysum, and Pink Peppercorn is recommended for inflammation, arthritis, muscle aches, and neuralgias.

From the fruit (berries), Pink Peppercorn sounds exotic but it is more common than you might think.  With origins in South America, today it is found growing all over the world, and in some locations (Florida) is considered a somewhat invasive species as a growing vine.  Like our Black Pepper, it also hails from Madagascar.

Fortunately, research is showing the botanical may be of use for combatting MRSA and other so-called “wild strains” from hospitals (bacterial).  The nurse/researcher responsible for creating and testing our MERCY line of products is now testing Pink Peppercorn essential oil and some others as another option for those combatting MRSA.  We are excited to participate in this research and look forward to sharing positive results with you.

Further, reputable studies are looking at it as an anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antioxidant, anti-cancer, and antifungal agent. In the Illustrated Encyclopedia of Essential Oils, Julia Lawless says it is helpful as an antiviral, antiseptic, and stimulant, and mentions it for arthritis/muscular pains and aches.

Since it can act as a stimulant, it is not suitable for diffusing at bedtime but may be uplifting during the day for both emotional and mental fatigue.

We are excited about the potential uses of Pink Peppercorn and the chance to offer it to our Nature’s Gift friends.  We look forward to your feedback!

Blends well with: Coriander, Frankincense, Helichrysum, Lavender, Clove Bud, Geranium, Lemongrass, Palma Rosa, Sandalwood, Jasmine, and Vetiver.

GC/MS Batch # MA-B085008
