Description
Quoting from “Aromatherapy Science: A Guide for Healthcare Professionals” by Maria Lis-Balchin who refers to a study between the Sense of Smell Institute regarding the effects of fragrance on mood. “Osmanthus is stimulating and helps to reduce apathy and depression; it is highly coveted in China and Japan, with its floral/fruity smell somewhat like apricot, and showed an increase in happiness, with a decrease in all the negative mood factors.”
Apricot, sweet-tart fruit, traces of leather and tabac, sunlight and shadows… Yes, it’s costly. Rare and precious things are.
This new batch is a bit deeper than the Osmanthus I have experienced in prior years. Prior batches were light and fruity, definitely high top notes. This production is a bit deeper, perhaps a high heart note, with the traces of leather or tabac that I’ve been missing.
I have never seen ANYONE who could resist smiling when Osmanthus is in the air.
Rare and delightful. Do a search in a perfumery site and see the high end perfumes that include Osmanthus for its exotic, bright fruitlike note. We have a hard time keeping this luxury absolute in stock. (Commercial clients in Asia are ordering it in volumes that we can hardly meet. What do they know that we don’t know?)
Please note that this absolute, undiluted, is fairly thick. Still liquid and pourable, but I doubt it will pour through even our largest orifice reducer. We suggest using a mini-pipette to remove a bit from the bottle. As an example of it’s thickness…I dipped a scent strip in it three or four hours ago. Most scent strips would be bone dry in less than an hour. This is still wet.
Available undiluted or in a 10% Dilution in light, odorless Fractionated Coconut Oil.
