Christi writes, "While the ocean beckons Marge as a native New Englander, I've always thrived in the starkness of the desert and that is where I come alive.  Growing up in the "hills" of Tennessee, the mountains feel like home and yet in my deepest being I yearn for the desert. The aroma of Southwestern White Pine is the best of both worlds: the mountains and the desert. For it only grows in four states in areas where the desert meets the foothills of the mountains.

Upon inhalation I am transported to the rocky terrain of ancient trees, thin air, and clear skies, and for a moment I feel free...an expansiveness rarely known in today's world crowded with people, information, noise, and constant stimulation. Stillness and expansion both ooze from this Southwestern White Pine; companions for life's journey.

Mitch McVicker, a singer-songwriter, sings about this area in his song,  "New Mexico."  He sings, "I'm alive and I'm living in a place where the world's crust has shifted and the stars in the Milky Way they're giving a party for New Mexico. Yes, I've come to the desert, just to find my way to forever, and you're so welcome here if you're ever in New Mexico."

If you've ever spent any time enjoying the great outdoors of Western Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, or Colorado; you will immediately connect with this special cone oil.

Aromatically deeper than Pinon Pine needles, with an earthy richness and a hint of pine and sweetness."

These huge cones are dripping with Resin when collected, and the resin brings a rich balsamic note to the essential oil. High in limonene, as well as the expected pinenes, the oil almost makes me think of a very light Frankincense.  The GC's that I have seen indicate the the oil is also rich in d Carene, an aid to studying and learning. It might be a refreshing change when used as a "study oil."  We find it a great aid to mental focus and concentration.
