We are extremely selective about Frereana and only offer it when we are able to source a beauty! From the same source as our new Frankincense Rivea offering...a most beautiful resinous "tree sap" oil from Somalia. We fell in love! Yes, Frankincense resin begins its journey as an aromatic tree sap which forms resin. The oil is steam-distilled from the resin and (voila!) a lovely oil emerges! (A slightly pungent and earthy, yet sweet aroma--sheer delight!)
This specimen is higher in the monoterpene a-thujene (55%) which contributes to its earthy pungency.
Uses include: antibacterial, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant. My instinct is to reach for it for pain relief. I am not certain how its components will contribute to a meditative state. But for perfumery, or for skin care, it truly is a "must experience" oil.
Safety: No known contraindications. Avoid oxidation.
